This Privacy Policy covers:
- The Dsmart Result System web portal (school, admin, and agent dashboards)
- The public student result checker
- The official Dsmart Result Android app (package:
com.deeunique.dsmartresult) - Online payments processed through Paystack
Schools using the platform may also maintain their own student records. Each school is responsible for informing students and parents how school data is handled, in line with applicable laws.
4. Information we collect
Account & profile data
- Name, email address, phone number (where provided)
- Login credentials (stored as secure password hashes — never plain text)
- Role and permissions within a school or on the platform
School & operational data
- School name, address, contact details, and branding settings
- Academic sessions, classes, subjects, and terms
- Student records: name, admission number, gender, date of birth, class, guardian contact, passport photo
- Results, scores, comments, attendance, and report card data entered by authorised staff
Student result checker
- Admission number and personal check code (to verify identity)
- IP address and timestamp when a check code is redeemed (for fraud prevention)
Payment data
- Payment reference, amount, units purchased, and transaction status
- Paystack handles card and bank payment details — we do not store full card numbers on our servers
Technical & usage data
- Browser or app type, device information, and IP address in server logs
- Session cookies required for secure login
- Network connectivity status (Android app — to show offline/reconnect messages)

7. Android mobile app
The Dsmart Result Android app is a secure wrapper around our web portal. It loads https://smartresult.ng/login in an in-app browser (WebView). Your login session and data handling follow the same rules as the website.
App permissions (optional unless noted)
- Internet — required to load the portal
- Network state — detect offline mode and auto-reconnect
- Camera — optional; only if you upload a student passport photo through the portal
- Photos / storage — optional; only if you choose files from your device in the portal
- Notifications — optional; for future portal alerts if enabled

8. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures, including:
- HTTPS encryption for data in transit (production deployments)
- Hashed passwords and session-based authentication
- Role-based access control for schools and platform staff
- Audit logging for sensitive administrative actions
- Secure payment verification through Paystack APIs
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage schools to use strong passwords and limit staff access appropriately.
9. Data retention
We retain account and school data for as long as the school account is active or as needed to provide services. Payment and access ledger records may be kept for accounting and audit purposes. Schools may request data export or account deletion subject to platform administrator approval and legal requirements.
10. Your rights
Depending on applicable law (including Nigeria’s NDPR), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account (subject to school and legal obligations)
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based

11. Children & schools
Student data is entered and managed by schools under their authority as educators and guardians of student records. The public result checker allows students to view their own results using credentials issued by their school. We do not knowingly collect unnecessary personal data directly from children without school involvement.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect changes. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
